The Uganda 7s finished sixth in their participation in the second Emirates Invitational tournament after being defeated by the Kenya(5-36) and France (33-7) in Dubai.
In the second game against France, the Uganda 7s scored one try and conversion by Philip Wokorach. In the qualifying round they lost to Kenya ( 5-36) and France (33-7) and won against Japan (24-19)
In the two tournaments held in April in the United Arab Emirates, the Uganda 7s won two games and lost ten in the high-level matches, which serve to intensify preparation for the Olympic Games.
“It was a good camp and a very necessary one as we prepare for the olympic qualifiers in Monaco. We went to the training camp seeded 8th out of 8th and ended up 7th in the first weekend and 6th out of 8th in the second weekend.”- Coach Tolbert Onyango
Sevens players Michael Wokorach, Philip Wokorach, Adrian Kasito, Isaac Massanganzira, Ian Munyani, Levis Ocen, Nobert Okeny, Desire Ayera, Joseph Aredo, Pius Ogena and Solomon Okia completed the Uganda squad in the tournament with Tolbert Onyango as coach, Michael Wandera (Team Managaer) and Samuel Asiimwe( Physiotherapist)
